Augmented reality on mobile phones probably doesn’t sound new to you, but I have no doubt that it is growing fast. Augmented reality apps enable users to see another layer with additional information when they view the world around with smartphone’s camera.

Get annoyed by mosquito sound? The iPhone game Mosquitoes lets you shoot animated mosquitoes that are infesting your room. Beside camera, the game uses compass and accelerometer to realistically let you hunt down the mosquitoes around you.

In Arcade Reality, magically pixelated alien attackers are only visible through your iPhone. They shoot out laser beams at you, the only way to stop them is to shoot them back! This game uses accelerometer and compass too, means you must actually move to make your attack.

As a firefighter your duty is simple, turn around 360 degrees with your iPhone to douse flames that spreading very fast in whatever street you are standing on (as viewed through your iPhone camera).
