This post belongs to the series of “10 Augmented Reality Games for Your iPhone”, see more augmented reality games in: Part 1, Part 2.

7. Ghost Hunter AR

Use your iPhone compass and camera to locate ghosts around you, as they are attacking you from every angle in real-time and not visible to the human eye.

Cost: Free

8. Firepower

Whether you’re having a bad day at work or you’re stuck in traffic, the iPhone app Firepower will simulate your fantasy of unloading a gatling gun on your sources of frustration. It’s kind of like playing Doom on your iPhone with real life as your surroundings: You point your camera at your target and tap the “Fire” button to shoot bullets while painting the screen with virtual blood.

Cost: $0.99

9. Splatter Bugs

Cockroaches are invading your world, download and print or just take a snapshot of the gamecard from your browser to spawn a roach-hole right in front of you. Looks like this iPhone game doesn’t use accelerometer and compass – it only uses image recognition technique to convert gamecard pattern into a cockroach hole.

Cost: $0.99

10. Dimension Invaders

Sorry, I couldn’t find a demo video for this game. If you know where I can find it please drop me an email.

Another augmented reality game using compass and accelerometer. You have to shoot the blue floating globs that are all around you by lining up the crosshair on the blob and press anywhere on the screen. Blue blobs will attack you too and your shield will be damaged.

Cost: Free
